Thoughts on Social Care and Spirituality

I am about to write a dissertation on social care work and spirituality. My aim is to gain a better understanding of how spirituality is emphasised within social work assessments and whether this has an influence on social care intervention. Is it just a rhetoric tick box or something of real value?
